- SPILL / LEAK PROCEDURE
In the event of a leak, spill, if you are not familiar with the liquid (s) and its
chemical properties, evacuate the area and contact the authorities
1. Assess the risk
Evaluate the nature of the materials spilled and identify their origins.
Protective gear
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for the situation. If the source or liquid
is not identifiable, protect yourself optimally
2. Stop the leak
Stop the leak by surrounding the puddle with the help of socks Stop the flow at
the source
Close the valves, move the drilled cans and seal the leaks if possible and safe
Clean
Clean with absorbent sheets and / or cushions (to be chosen according to the size of the
puddle)
3. Contact the authorities
Report the spill to the appropriate local authorities
Dispose of used equipment
The absorbent products adopt the characteristics of the absorbent products. Eliminate used
absorbents and liquids discharged in accordance with applicable laws locally.
4. Decontaminate
Properly clean all tools and reusable equipment before any further use
5. Replace the material used
Replace absorbent products and safety equipment used for each operation of cleaning
